Forms are precise but slow; chat is fast but usually shallow — most "AI agents" in this category can run one tool. The CatalogX Agent is a chat interface over the whole product, and the engineering that makes that safe is the interesting part.
Eighteen tools, not a chatbot with one trick
The Agent reaches try-on (pose reference included), edit and fix, 2K/4K enhancement, e-commerce packs, ghost mannequin, background removal, compression, color variants, Leaflet with AI Enhance, marketplace export, project filing and — plan permitting — video. Tool coverage is enforced by tests, so a capability can't silently drop out of the chat.
It knows your assets by name
"On my model, against my studio wall, in my saved pose" resolves to your actual saved library entries — custom models, backgrounds and poses are all addressable in conversation, and your gallery is context: "make this one 2K" means that one.
It routes to the cheap correct tool
A real production lesson we designed against: asked for "2K of this image", a naive router re-shoots the whole image from scratch — new model, new pose, settings lost, credits spent. The Agent routes that request to Enhance, which upgrades the image you already approved. The distinction sounds small; across a catalog it is the difference between a tool that compounds your work and one that resets it.
Money is gated, not implied
The Agent quotes the credit cost before anything is spent, and any action costing 10 or more credits — every video, today — requires your explicit approval. It is also plan-aware: it won't propose assets or resolutions your plan doesn't include, so a Pro user is never quoted a 1080p render.
