Data Deletion
Last updated: September 20, 2026
This page explains how to disconnect Instagram or Facebook from CatalogX, and how to have your CatalogX account and its data deleted. There are two different things you may want, and they are handled separately below.
1. What CatalogX receives from Instagram or Facebook
When you sign in to CatalogX with Instagram or Facebook, we receive and store only what is needed to recognise you on your next sign-in:
| Data | Why we hold it |
|---|---|
| Your Instagram/Facebook user ID (app-scoped) | It is the identity your CatalogX account is linked to. It never changes, even if you rename your profile. |
| Your username / display name | Shown in your account so you can tell which profile you signed in with. |
| Account type (business or creator) | Instagram Login only works for business and creator accounts; we check this to show a clear error rather than a failed login. |
We do not store your access token. It is used once, at sign-in, to read the profile fields above, and is then discarded. CatalogX cannot post, read your media, or act on your behalf at any time after you sign in. Instagram Login also does not give us an email address.
2. Disconnect Instagram or Facebook (immediate, automatic)
To remove the connection between your social profile and CatalogX:
- Instagram: open Instagram, go to Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites, find CatalogX and remove it.
- Facebook: open Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, find CatalogX and remove it.
Meta notifies us automatically when you do this, and we delete the stored link (the user ID and username above) straight away. You are then shown a confirmation code and a status page confirming the deletion. Nothing further is required from you.
Your CatalogX account survives this. Disconnecting a social login removes the link, not the account: your credits, saved models and generated images are untouched. If Instagram was your only sign-in method, contact us at the address below and we will help you set another one — otherwise you may lose access to an account that still exists.
3. Delete your CatalogX account and all its data
This is the full deletion: the account itself, and everything stored under it.
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. If you signed in with Instagram and never added an email address, message us from the Instagram account instead, or include your Instagram username so we can match it to the linked profile.
We confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner. When it completes we delete:
- your account record, including name, email address, phone number and city;
- every social login linked to it;
- your generated images and their stored source images (the garment and model photos you uploaded);
- your saved models, backgrounds, poses, brand kit and projects;
- your credit balance and any unused credits, which are forfeited on deletion.
We keep records we are legally required to keep — invoices and payment records for tax and accounting purposes — for the period the law requires. These contain billing details only, not your images.
4. Delete individual images instead
If you only want specific results removed, you do not need to delete your account. Open your gallery in the app and delete them there, or email [email protected] with the image dates and we will remove them for you.
